HELMET RENTAL

550 ECV (≈ 5€) per helmet

Refundable security deposit: 2,000 CVE or €20 per helmet.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Payment in Cape Verdean escudos (CVE) is preferred.

Payments in euros are also accepted, with a fixed surcharge of €6 per rental to cover currency exchange costs.

Euro amounts are shown for information purposes only.

All payments and security deposits must currently be made in cash.

RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

Rider Requirements & Safety

• Riders must hold a valid driving licence for the motorcycle category.

• For safety reasons and due to the mountainous terrain of Santo Antão, passengers are not permitted.

• Maximum load permitted by Thalyna: 150 kg (rider and luggage combined).

• Wearing a helmet is mandatory.

Insurance & Liability

• The motorcycle is covered by third-party liability insurance, subject to the terms and limits of the insurance policy.

• Damage to the rented motorcycle is not covered by comprehensive insurance and may be the renter's responsibility, in accordance with the rental agreement.

Fuel & Return

• The motorcycle is provided with a full fuel tank and must be returned with a full tank.

• Pick-up and return times are agreed upon when booking.

• A 30-minute grace period applies to late returns.

Late Return Fees

• Up to 30 minutes: no additional charge.

• More than 30 minutes and up to 2 hours: 1,000 CVE.

• More than 2 hours and up to 4 hours: 2,500 CVE.

• More than 4 hours: 4,900 CVE.

Roads & Permitted Routes

• Riding is permitted on asphalt and cobblestone roads, as well as on routes expressly authorised by Thalyna.

• Some authorised routes may include unpaved sections, dirt tracks or sandy stretches, particularly near Tarrafal Beach.

• Riding outside authorised routes is prohibited. The renter may be held responsible for any resulting damage or recovery costs, in accordance with the rental agreement.

• The road between the Tarrafal/Norte viewpoint and Ribeira da Cruz is strictly prohibited for rental motorcycles.
